This build has been designed for the following use:

This build is designed to farm areas such as The Underworld and The Foundry of Failed Creations for rare items. While the 600 monk uses protective spirit, spirit bond, and shield of absorption to keep himself alive, the enemies take damage from famine, sympathetic visage, holy wrath, and retribution.
This team Contains:
- Mo/Me 600 Monk Tank - To absorb damage and act as a focusing lense to deal damage.
- R/Mo The Famine Ranger - To keep up Quickening Zephyr so the monk can keep a constant Spell Breaker and to deal damage with Famine.
- Mo/E The Smiter - To kill caster only mobs and speed up the run.

[edit] General Usage
- The ranger and the smiter should cast all maintained enchantments on the tank.
- Make sure the ranger has 30 energy, enough to cast Serpent's Quickness and Quickening Zephyr.
- The tank should cast Spell Breaker, Protective Spirit, Spirit Bond, and Shield of Absorption and then aggro.
- Make sure to stay in bond and QZ range at all times.
- Ball up any casters in the group by pulling back, then run into the center of the ball.
- Maintain all enchantments as energy allows.
- Due to the energy drain from Sympathetic Visage and the damage from the smiter, the mob should die quickly and easily.
- If there are any monks remaining after the meleers in the mob have died, cast Spirit Shackles on them, eventually they will wand themselves to death.

Core Monk. Protection Prayers 12 Protective Spirit Enchantment Spell For 19 seconds, target ally cannot lose more than 10% max Health due to damage from a single attack or Spell. Target ally gets healed for 48 Health. Nightfall Monk. Protection Prayers 12 Shield of Absorption Enchantment Spell For 6 seconds, damage received by target ally is reduced by 5 each time that ally is hit while under the effects of this Enchantment. Target ally gets healed for 48 Health. Factions Monk. Protection Prayers 12 Spirit Bond Enchantment Spell For 8 seconds, whenever target ally takes more than 60 damage from the next 10 attacks or Spells, that ally is healed for 88 Health. Target ally gets healed for 48 Health. Prophecies Mesmer. Illusion Magic 7 Sympathetic Visage Enchantment Spell For 7 seconds, whenever target ally is hit by a melee attack, all adjacent foes lose all adrenaline and 3 Energy. Core Mesmer. Inspiration Magic 5 Spirit Shackles Hex Spell For 10 seconds, target foe loses 5 Energy whenever that foe attacks. Core Monk. Divine Favor 15 Spell Breaker Elite Enchantment Spell For 17 seconds, enemy Spells targeted against target ally fail. Target ally gets healed for 48 Health. Prophecies Monk. Unlinked Essence Bond Enchantment Spell While you maintain this Enchantment, whenever target ally takes physical or elemental damage, you gain 1 Energy. Target ally gets healed for 48 Health. Prophecies Monk. Divine Favor 15 Blessed Aura Enchantment Spell While you maintain this Enchantment, Monk Enchantments you cast last 35% longer. You get healed for 48 Health. |

Factions Ranger. Wilderness Survival 16 Famine Elite Nature Ritual Create a level 11 Spirit with 220 Health and 68 armor. Whenever a non-Spirit creature in its range reaches 0 Energy, that creature takes 37 damage. This Spirit dies after 94 seconds. Core Ranger. Wilderness Survival 16 Quickening Zephyr Nature Ritual Create a level 11 Spirit with 220 Health and 68 armor. For non-Spirit creatures within its range, all skills recharge twice as fast and cost 30% more of the base Energy to cast. This Spirit dies after 47 seconds. Prophecies Ranger. Beast Mastery 13 Edge of Extinction Nature Ritual Create a level 9 Spirit with 180 Health and 56 armor. If a non-Spirit creature within range dies, Edge of Extinction deals 45 damage to all creatures of the same type that are below 90% Health and within range of the Spirit. This Spirit dies after 134 seconds. Prophecies Ranger. Wilderness Survival 16 Serpent's Quickness Stance For 31 seconds, recharge times for your skills are reduced by 33%. Serpent's Quickness ends if your Health drops below 50%. Prophecies Monk. Smiting Prayers Balthazar's Spirit Enchantment Spell While you maintain this Enchantment, target ally gains adrenaline and Energy after taking damage. (The amount of adrenaline gained increases depending on your rank in Smiting Prayers.) Prophecies Monk. Unlinked Succor Enchantment Spell While you maintain this Enchantment, target other ally gains +1 Health and +1 Energy regeneration, but you lose 1 Energy each time that ally casts a Spell. Prophecies Monk. Unlinked Essence Bond Enchantment Spell While you maintain this Enchantment, whenever target ally takes physical or elemental damage, you gain 1 Energy. Core Ranger. Expertise 11 Distracting Shot Bow Attack If Distracting Shot hits, it interrupts target foe's action but deals only 12 damage. If the interrupted action was a skill, that skill is disabled for an additional 20 seconds. |

- A Staff with 15 or more energy.
- Any type of Bow (Longbow or Flatbow is recommended).

- Power Block can be used to kill leftover monks
- Cautery Signet can be used for places with dazed
- Life Barrier makes the tank's job easier (drop Life Attunement)
- Peace and Harmony (with Blessed Signet) makes the famine better energy management.
This build can also be used by a mesmer/monk with Signet of Illusions and a rune of superior illusion.

- In areas like Foundry, where mass enemies are encountered, tanking is extremely difficult, but with practice it becomes easier.
- Although skills that can go through Spell Breaker are listed as a counter, mobs tend not to use those skills if you have Spell Breaker on.
